Raphael Elmaleh is a Moroccan and Jewish, born in Casablanca. Raphy, as he is known to his friends and clients, is the only Jew working as a guide in Morocco, and his specialty is Jewish Heritage tours. He worked extensively with Simon Levy, the founder of the Jewish Museum in Casablanca, and he has traveled to all parts of Morocco identifying and documenting Jewish towns and sites. He is probably the most knowledgeable person the various regions of Morocco and the local histories of Jewish life in each.

    His years of experience and vast knowledge have placed him in a position where his services are in great demand, not only in the country of his birth but also in North America and Israel. Raphy is constantly called upon to share his knowledge by visiting several cities in North America, giving lectures on Jewish Morocco.
