Rabbi Kushner is the author of more than 18 books and is one of the most widely read Jewish scholars in the United States. He is a Reform rabbi
and the scholar-in-residence at Congregation Emanu-El in San Francisco, California.
Rabbi Kushner graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Cincinnati, and he later studied at the Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati. Kushner was rabbi at the Congregation Beth-El in Sudbury, Massachusetts before moving to the Congregation Emanu-El of San Francisco, as the Scholar-in-Residence.
Rabbi Kushner has taught spirituality and mysticism, and mentored rabbinic students at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York City, New York and has taught at the Hebrew Union College in Los Angeles.
