What you should know about Islam

Islam and Muslims is an introduction to Islam, the Muslim world and its people, from religion and beliefs to the life of Muhammad and the development of the great civilizations that historically characterized this religious tradition. Not all Arabs are Muslims, and most Muslims are not Arabs. Islam and Muslims explains the ethnic diversity and cultural differences within the Muslim world from Arabs to Turks, Egyptians, Persians, Kurds, Malays, Africans, Berbers, and others.

“Congratulations! A fine book...the work exhibits a truly encyclopedic familiarity with the histories, resulting cultural patterns, and ensuing contemporary problems of its primary protagonists...you also make the narration fully readable by the average citizen.”

-- Prof. Dan Tschirgi. American University of Cairo.
Author of The Arab World Today and Turning Point: The Arab World’s Marginalization and International Security After 9/11.
